2023-2024 PA School Registration Requirements

Thank you for your interest in PA Distance Learning. Please send us the following PA school registration requirements via any of the methods that we list below.

  • Proof of Child’s Age – Please provide a copy of your child’s birth certificate or a valid passport. You can also request a copy of your child’s birth certificate at www.vitalchek.com *Please note, a copy could take an extended period of time to arrive.
  • 2 Proofs of Residency (in primary guardian’s name) – We will accept any two of the following items: Valid PA driver’s license or State ID card, internet/cable bill, utility bill (electric, water, gas), lease, mortgage statement, or vehicle registration and insurance card. All documents must reflect the current address and be within the past 60 days. We will NOT accept envelopes.
  • Immunization Records – Please provide a copy of your child’s most recent immunization record. You can obtain a copy from your doctor’s office or request a copy from your child’s current school.   • Proof of Internet – An Internet bill may be used as proof of residence.

The following documents may be requested, but are NOT a condition of enrollment:

  • Report Card/Transcript (if applicable) – Please provide a copy of your child’s most recent report card or transcript.
  • Special Education Documents (if applicable) – Please provide a copy of your child’s most recent IEP (Individualized Educational Program) & NOREP (Notice of Recommended Educational Placement), the Initial ER (Evaluation Report), all RR’s (Reevaluation Reports), most recent Invitation to Participate, all Permission to Evaluate and/or Waiver forms, and any other psychological or related service evaluations pertaining to Special Education.
  • Medical Screenings* – All new students, students entering Kindergarten or 1st grade, and all students in 6th and 11th grade must provide a current physical exam. Physical Form
  • Dental Exams – Students entering Kindergarten or 1st grade and all students in 3rd and 7th grade must provide a current dental exam. Dental Form

*Students in all grades must receive annual health screenings.

Eligibility Information

Age – Students enrolling in Kindergarten must be 5 years of age on or before the first day of school in their district of residence.

In general, students may not be 21 years of age at the time of enrollment but may be permitted to complete the school semester in which his/her 21st birthday falls. However, students with an IEP may enroll and attend until their 22nd birthday. This is subject to change based on rules and regulations established by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.

Technology – The enrolling student must have reliable, high-speed internet service in the primary residence no later than the first day of school. *Please note, verification will be requested.

ResidencyProof of residency for school enrollment must be within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
