What do you enjoy doing in your spare time (hobbies)?
I enjoy taking photographs of many different things. People, nature, or landscapes are just some of these things.
What do you like most about attending PA Distance?
I like how the interaction between students and teachers can be so simple as an e-mail or a phone call.
What are your future goals?
To become a professional photographer.
What is your favorite book?
Probably the Harry Potter series.
What is your favorite movie?
The Emperor’s New Groove
Do you have any advice to give to the underclassmen?
Be yourself no matter what people say. Trying to fit in is just a waste of time. If there’s no originality, we’ll all be the same, never knowing what creative minds are out there.
If you had $1,000 what would you do with it?
I would probably buy myself a new, better camera to take pictures with.
What is or was your favorite subject/class at PA Distance?
Sociology because I like learning about the way our society has been created.
What is your most prized possession?
My baby blanket with my name sewn in by my grandmother.
If you could visit anywhere in the world, where would you go?
I’ve always wanted to go to Australia. I love the accents and it would be an amazing experience.
Who are the most influential people in your life?
The most influential people in my life would have to be my mom, my dad, and my boyfriend. My mom is the person who has been there for me through everything and has told me that things will always be ok as long as she’s around. My dad encourages my photography skills and helps me to get ready for my future. He also is the one to always make me laugh no matter what situation I am in. My boyfriend is the person that has made me a more confident person. My confidence and self-esteem has rocketed to a higher level since I’ve been with him. He’s made me into a better person and he makes me incredibly happy every time I see him.
What is your best memory from your time here at PA Distance?
The fact that I have only been attending for such a short amount of time makes it hard to have a memory, but the first day would have to be the most memorable so far. The day of orientation and getting ready for classes the next day was very hectic and I was angry because I couldn’t figure things out my first time using the system. I was so stressed that I would do something wrong on the day of classes that I barely slept the night before. I woke up and went through an entire day with a stress-free attitude because the system became so simple. I had stressed over nothing.
